Minuet Class
(We are not currently offering a Minuet class. If you are interested in learning the minuet, let us know! We'd be happy to do a private class for 2 or more students)
ages 10 - adult
In our Minuet class you will learn the Minuet Step in a simplified version of a group Minuet or a couples Minuet. The Minuet was devised in the 1660s for the French court and became a ritual of the ballroom for the entire 18th century and into the 19th century. Balls often opened with the Minuet and then continued with the country dances. The Minuet has a basic step and is easier then other composed dances like Gavottes or Allemandes. It is a graceful dance done as a couples dance OR in a group. (like the Victorian/Regency dances.) The challenge of the Minuet is the smooth execution with one’s partner. No previous dance experience required. No partner required. |
We are also teaching more ballet classes at Terpsichorean Dance Studio (Bend) and Latreia Dance Academy (Redmond)
